The military industrial complex & foreign policy establishment are real & powerful. To overcome their policy preference, you need a president that is cagey and tenacious (Nixon with opening to China, Obama with Cuba, Iran & Syria). Trump doesn't have it.

He lacks the ability to hand a firm policy to Military commanders who in turn run things on their own timetable and aims - which was his campaign promise anyways.

When he speaks so glowingly of the military and generals in jingoistic terms, I have a lot of trouble understanding where that fantasy comes from. He’s not anti-interventionist. He just despises interventions that don’t expand the empire.

He is anti war, but because of Giuliani & Kushner & donators, he’s surrounded by neocons like Bolton. His hands are pretty much tied. Obama was the same during his 1st term. He had Rahm Israel-Emanuel & Hillary. I’m not a Trump supporter but he’s been anti war for a long time

Trunp’s not anti war- he’s pro-plunder. If you can’t take a country’s resources, he doesn’t see the point.

I find this aspect of people who believe in him or want to believe in him or are "seeking out the good" in what he does the most disturbing. It's like we don't even understand what war & occupation really are & why would you think someone like him is in anyway capable?
