Is your misinterpretation of Chait’s argument intentional or accidental?

it's intentional, because .. it's jeet - stuck in a non-existent world leftists created to defend believing their own b.s. regardless of reality.

I am a liberal and I want to change the world. I strongly object to the way people throw around "left", "liberal", and "progressive" sometimes interchangeable and at other times with an incredible precision.

I'm a Democrat. I leave all those other words alone.

You say leftist ideas don’t hold up under implementation as if the Nordic countries don’t exist

I'd like some definitions so we can all work from the same facts. What does a leftist believe? What does a liberal believe? If you asked people who self-describe as such, would they agree with your definition?
-
Yeah, my experience may be limited, but people who try to distinguish between liberal and leftist tend toward the nutcase side. Fake Mark Twain "quote" about voting, Greenwald worship, the works.

It’s ironic that the modern far right modeled their tactics on those of the mid century leftist to a certain extent. They are both two sides of the same extremist coin. The ends do not justify the means.
