That would not work. For one thing, no one really knows what a publicly run social network should look like. The public has no legitimate use for an opaque, centralized, global surveillance system. I mean, besides the one we already own but aren’t allowed to know about.

In other words, if you’re building for public purposes, the thing you build won’t work anything like Facebook.
