I'm old enough tor remember when people making a dangerous trek in a caravan across a desert wasteland was something Mormons admired.https://twitter.com/bad_takes/status/1073773580985516032 …

Such utter rubbish. We were driven out of everywhere trying to be left alone, we weren’t trying to break into an already existent country that was going to give us the business. Ignorant tweet.

Your assumption is that Native peoples had no nations and that Mexico is not a real nation. That's false.

Look at a picture of the salt lake valley tool. They lived scattered but had no claim to everything that existed past Missouri and they’d find that contention idiotic.

If Mormons saw a settlement of Indians and decided to kick them off their land and then take it over then you’d have a point but that’s not what happened. Wild West denotes wild and no government structure which didn’t exist native or non native.

No Natives were harmed in the making of this country. Sure.

So by your grievance hierarchy if I bring up that the Mormons were harmed to leave the east and also many died along the way and it wasn’t some picnic living in the middle of nowhere then they win?

The trek is usually treated by Mormons as daunting and heroic. I would ask you to extend the same sympathy to non-white human beings that you have for your ancestors.

Right daunting, heroic, and necessary but not some childish club to beat people up with for cheap political points. You keep injecting race into this as if these where white people that somehow it would change opinions.

Why are non white people moving from a non white country to come to a white racist country? They would rather risk life to come to the most racist country in the world than stay in these non white paradises. I respect that but not the tactics.

This is such a troubling tweet. 1)Your implying that natives owned all land that they didn’t actually live on 2) that Mexico’s claim to such land was somehow more valid than the people that showed up and actually lived in it.

Somehow Mexico is some benevolent civilization worthy of your respect living in harmony with all people while the USA is some invasive species. There’s a reason the flow of people if from one of those to the other but you’d never know it with some of the rhetoric.
