I'm a little bit shamed by the fact that @mattyglesias took a harsher line against The Weekly Standard than I did:https://www.vox.com/2018/12/5/18126573/weekly-standard-neoconservatives-trump-iraq-casualties …

I disagree with this: "But though Trump’s vision of world affairs is wrong, the Kristol-ite alternative is even more dangerous." Kristol's foreign policy has done more real world damage to date. But if Trump is given enough time, he could easily match Kristol/Bush.

Trump's foreign policy is a bit of a mess but the component parts (willingness to take bribes for personal enrichment, turning alliances into straight-up protection racket, supporting racist nationalist movements in Europe, hard anti-immigrant stance) are all pernicious.

Boiled down, Trump's foreign policy is international white nationalism plus corruption. Plus usual Trump theatrics of boasting of meagre or non-existent "deals." It's hard to see how this isn't de-destabilizing and ultimately will lead to wars.

I always thought the "neo" in neo-conservatism was meant for Keanu Reeves' character turn in The Matrix Revolution.

His criteria for what “reasonable” conservatives want is strange, especially when viewed with the implied corollary, what liberals want. “Reasonable” conservatives would be willing to debate these issues fairly. Conservatives as we know them are not.

AAAAMD
@mattyglesias also strongly believes in doxxing people and harassing people you disagree with at their homes and in restaurants...which fits right along with your “Fuck Civility” mentality. Of course matty got scared when his own home address was given out...Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
