Fair enough, but Biblical History as a discipline is suspect in that Biblical scholars are notorious for not using falsifiable historical methods, relying too heavily on the Bible itself. The consensus is based more on theology than empirical evidence.

That's very unfair to mainstream Biblical scholarship, which since at least the early 19th century has challenged traditional theology.
