The Ontario PC convention passed a motion saying gender identity is “a highly controversial, unscientific liberal ideology.” So I have a message for Ford: Trans people are not a leftie conspiracy theory. We are regular people & we are deeply worried for trans youth in schools.

Their statement was on “Gender Identity Theory”, NOT on trans people. There is a huge difference. No-one is attempting to erase trans people. They are trying to erase non-scientific dogma from the education system. Trans people exist outside of Gender Identity Theory.

The fact that millions of trans people EXIST means that gender identity isnt a ‘theory’. I suggest you research the 1933 Nazi book burnings at the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft —which destroyed the world’s largest collection of LGBT science+history. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institut_ …

The statement was not about “gender identity” but on “gender identity theory” which is another thing altogether. The existance of trans people does not prove “gender identity theory”. That makes as much sense as arguing that the existence of flatlands proves flat earth theory.

What do you mean by "gender identity theory" and what do you think Ford means? cuz you seem to have made an infinitely shiftable imaginary goalpost.

I literally mean “Gender Identity Theory”. No linguistic tricks, I literally meant what I said. I have no idea what Ford means, as I’ve never heard him use the term. Can you give me the context of what he said and when?

That's not a singular thing. What "gender identity theory", what does it claim? Explain like I'm five.

Refers to the intersection of identity politics and social identity theory as described in gender & queer studies. Key claims include gender is socially constructed, peformative, non-binary (or non-bi-modal distributed), spectrum-based, and without meaningful correlation to sex.

How exactly? Please point out where I mis-characterized gender studies, or gender identity theory when contrasted with science.

Can you clarify what the Ontario PC party meant by these words? I’m open to having misinterpreted them.
