Beat up on Lee all you want for hogging credit and screwing his collaborators, he probably deserves worse, but to say he had no talent at all, that his contributions to those comics had no creative value, is absurd, like saying rain falls up

There are a few hardcore Jack Kirby loyalists saying Lee had no talent but not really that many. Most people acknowledge his contributions as editor, dialogue writer, figurehead.

Gary just called him a creative nonentity, for example. it's not an unpopular position, particular as regards writing off the figurehead thing as pure fraud rather than establishing the gestalt of the work which is what so many people found appealing enough to bring them to Kirby
