The greatest period of American upward mobility -- the 1940s to the 1970s when the Middle Class was created -- was a product of unionization.

Capitalism doesn't work without the working class -- which was strongly organized at that period. It was the golden age of social democracy. Try to use your brain.

social democracy piggy backed off the success of post ww2 capitalism. and in order to stay relevant, they refuted almost all socialist principles by the end of the period. you can use my brain

No man, capitalism destroyed itself in 1920s/1930s and social democracy rebuilt system. Capitalism didn't create that wealth, the working class did.

capitalism is not just the stock market... we're talking of social mobility, and due to free enterprise people were able to elevate themselves..unions improved the conditions of the workers but did not help them change class...in fact it solidified their working class status

Nope. Unions created mass American middle class. And the war on unions starting in 1970s has been accompanied by stalled social mobility & increased inequality. Please pull your head out of your ass.

If you want to say capitalism is really social democracy, then okay. Let's have much more capitalism (i.e. social democracy). I don't care what names you want to use.

now admit that unions may have strengthened the working class. but did not help with mobility.. which is the main argument.. yes take care of the working class but any movement is not because of socialism but instead because of capitalism.

Why should I admit things that aren't true.
