Condemn Farrakhan? Sure, happy to. Farrakhan is a fucking asshole: he's an anti-Semitic, homophobic, misogynist, grifter who was almost certainly complicit in the murder of Malcolm X. Thankfully, he's also a figure with a small & dwindling following.

Yeah, good thing none of his enthusiastic followers lead a movement in which hundreds of thousands of people have marched in the streets all across the country, appear with Congressional candidates, and even get ice cream flavors dedicated to them.

You remind me of the people who wanted to discredit the entire anti-war movement in 2003 because ANSWER organized some big marches.

I’m not discrediting those opposed to Trump’s policies. I’m discrediting Sarsour and Mallory who openly support, how can I accurately put it, “a fucking asshole; an anti-Semitic, homophobic, misogynist, grifter”.

You’d think the Women’s March wouldn’t want leaders so closely associated with
#BlackDavidDuke. It can’t be good for attracting mainstream support.4 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -
And Farrakhan has no small overlap with the racism of ANSWER. Every one of their marches featured anti-Semitism. I was often on the streets counter-protesting it (not in favor of the Iraq war). Plenty more where this comes from.pic.twitter.com/LNsPXNtfJE

How many members of the next Congress would meet with Farrakhan? More than would meet with David Duke.

The President of the United States explicitly refused to disavow David Duke in 2016 in the run-up to the South Carolina primaries.

I was asked if there was something comparable to Farrakhan meeting congressmen and I suppled an example. How is that whataboutism?

I think saying "both sides have their monsters" ignores difference between two things being compared (Ellison met Farrakhan when young and now disavows him, Trump is unrepentant in courtship of alt right).
