I've got the first volume of "A Dance to the Music of Time" staring down at me from the shelf, pages still rather virginal. I think I read David Frum (?) despairing over it being dull and boggy, sorta took the wind out of my sails. Worth another go, do you ken?

Yes, I would recommend the series. It's note quite Proust but it's a work of great cumulative power -- even the first volume is okay
