The people Weiss is praising here for their devotion to debate include Sam Harris (who says Ta-Nehisi Coates isn't worth debating) and Jordan Peterson (who has sued and threatened people who criticize his ideas).https://twitter.com/bariweiss/status/1048326933891764224 …

Coats isn’t worth debating and Peterson is suing for defamation. Both are legitimate positions.

His name is Coates. If you think Charles Murray is worth debating but aren't even willing to learn the proper spelling of the name of one of the most highly regarded black intellectual of our time, that suggests your values aren't at all about rational discourse.

As far as I am aware, and I’ve not read Murray’s work, Murray presents data. So His conclusions may be worth debating but I don’t think the data in and of itself is debatable. And my typo is not some kind of aggression against Mr. Coates.

If you read Coates work, you would know he also presents data. Better data than Murray, in fact, since many of sources Murray relies on are dubious. https://www.nybooks.com/articles/1994/12/01/the-tainted-sources-of-the-bell-curve/ …
