Yes. To me there are two thresholds for cons who want to find a way to support BK, but still want to take the process of investigation seriously: 1) They concede the process is a joke—no witnesses is risible. 2) They concede that BK was obviously a heavy drinker in this period.

I honestly think they need to question how much he drinks NOW. There was the yacht thing that was 20 years post-college that seemingly referenced lots of alcohol. we have no statements he ever cut back. maybe he did, but there's questions in my mind, why not ask?.

He could probably say, "I don't drink anymore, but I don't drink any less either" and everybody would just laugh it off.

You know who groups of drunkards love to hang out with? Some guy who claims he was a sober, only caring about the boys and girls, virgin! I knew tons of drunks and none saught out the staright edge kid to tag along.
