How difficult is it to say: "Look, I drank a lot in high school and college. I did a lot of stuff I'm not proud of, some of which I might not even remember. I'm genuinely sorry to anyone I hurt. I'm a different man today."

No he has not. The only way anyone can make the claim of perjury is to twist what he has actually said. That is why only left wing extremists are making the perjury accusations. Not even the left leaning major networks are supporting that nonsense.

Who said anything about perjury? I'm talking about interview he gave not on oath but which was riddled with falsehood.

The burden of proof is on the accuser not the accused, Jeezuz why is that so difficult to understand? Drinking a lot in college isn’t a crime, and shouldn’t have to come with blanket apologies.

This isn't a trial, it's a job interview. Fact that the guy lies about his past, including about period of heavy drinking, can and should be held against him in asking if he's up for the job.
