Two situations aren't analogous. If I find someone is honest in public argument, I trust them until shown evidence of lying. But Kavanaugh's supporters are trusting him in situation where they can't know the truth.

Nor can you. I understand your perspective, but from the outside it just looks like some "his word is his bond" nonsense that has no evidence beyond thinking he's a decent guy.
