I can definitely see that I'm going to spend my old age working on genealogical charts for characters in "A Dance To the Music of Time."

What if it turns out that Perry Anderson. . .is right?

He counted a lot of things in both oeuvres. You could re-count, and just trash his numbers.

I know who Powell is and have the collection A Dance to the Music of Time. Never read it though. My question-I went for years with barely hearing a word about him. In the past year dozens references. Is this just the oddity of my field of vision or is there a revival of Powell?

The recent Spurling biography is causing people to go back to the work.

Hilary Spurling's Invitation to the Dance does a lot of the genealogical work for you. And this piece by hitchens is worth ten of perry anderson...https://www.nybooks.com/articles/1998/05/28/powells-way/ …

Ah here - Hitch's piece is fantastic but Anderson is of novella-like insight and depth - no comparison in riches
