It's not even the issue of nuance, exactly, that has me upset—Stan Lee's political messages were subtle as a brick. But, they were parables, stories, using characters of diverse and conflicting motivations, not cardboard cutouts dictating approved political beliefs to the reader.

Oh my Goddess you are pretentious. Yes, I know how the Marvel Method works (and Lee did co-plot the stories, FWIW). I only had so many characters. And my EXACT POINT was about how classic comics were full of unsubtle political messages. I'm saying they were done BETTER back then.
