It's no more hypocritical of the descendant of immigrants to oppose immigration than it is for the descendants of anyone to not have children. Stephen Miller's problem is that he's perpetrating evil, and it wouldn't be in the least exculpatory if this were a family tradition.

Right. It's both Critical Thinking and Morality 101 to note that one merits neither praise nor blame for acting either consistently or inconsistently with the actions of distant others.

Meh... Family history is relevant in understanding why someone has a specific moral code, but not in evaluating whether that moral code is the correct one. It's not a question of any kind of individualism but of non-relativism.

I'm not sure if he is even espousing any specific ethics, let alone specifically libertarian ethics. He is just pointing out that a person can't be labeled a hypocrite because they contradict the statements/beliefs/actions of a completely different person.
