Really? The idea that these issues can be settled by "data" is a fundamental misunderstanding of what is driving them.

My problem with bringing data into this isn't that data isn't good to have, but that Bernier's original tweets were making normative claims, not empirical ones, and I think normative claims deserve being addressed on own terms.

Okay, there are empirical claims embedded in his normative critique of multiculturalism but I'm doubtful that if they were refuted Bernier or his supporters would change their minds on this. The passion that is driving this doesn't come from data.
