1. @benshapiro would probably win a debate with @Ocasio2018.
2. But it’s perfectly reasonable for her to refuse (regardless of likely outcome)!
3. Ocasio comparing the offer to debate with catcalling is bonkers.
4. Shapiro then calling her comparison “slander” is also bonkers.

The number of people/publications misrepresenting her point and saying it was about "a simple offer to debate", whether that misrepresentation is on purpose or not, is maddening.pic.twitter.com/1AIQaS6fG8

Catcalling is also much about women needing approval or even permission to exist in public spaces. So I can follow the logic.
-
"Just like catcalling, I don’t owe a response to unsolicited requests from men with bad intentions." If you are not part of Ocasios progressive cult, it seeems pretty clear that she is directly comparing invitations to debate with catcalling.

Ok I buy that- but she’s running as a public servant. So some expected. Personal opinion- the analogy was poor. Flip Side: I actually think it was one of her better moments of response. As I said before- comments like these do not matter anymore in a Trump era.

The catcalling comment was clearly aimed at Shaprio himself. Why would the "bad intentions" of Shapiro's supporters matter at all? She wouldn't be debating them?
-
Because she was replying to one of them, and they were pestering her and writing dumb articles about her ignoring shapiro
