2. More seriously, there are two tracks in the Russia story: the political track and the legal track. "Collusion Is Not a Crime" means Trump has a political strategy but not a legal strategy.

3. "Collusion is not a crime" doesn't work as a legal strategy because there are all sorts of people around Trump, including family, who are in legal jeopardy for serious actual offences.

4. I think one mistake people are making is paying too much attention to Trump & Giuliani (the political track) and not enough to Mueller's actions (the legal track). To be fair, the Mueller stuff is murky (few leaks and we're only seeing tip of iceberg).

5. My colleague has good thoughts on why we should ignore political track (i.e. Giuliani's grandstanding) and try to keep abreast of legal track: https://newrepublic.com/article/150399/ignore-rudy-giuliani …

Wife is a longtime atty. We've had discussions over the years about handling difficult clients. There is a fine line between "managing the client" and "coddling the client." DJT is 100% in the coddled category. When the shit hits the fan it's gon' be good.

2/ That's because the coddled client is "sheltered" from the truth. It's a form of delayed pain. Both for the attorneys and the client. It's never pleasant when reality collides with the fantasy. It's really never a good policy. Yet it sure looks like what's going on here.
