Lol it's a dog whistle. He's written entire books of dog whistles
So we should recognize people can and do evolve over time as they are exposed to differences in opinions.
He's got a point. We all say incredibly stupid things when we were *checks notes* working as editor-at-large for Breitbart.
My opinion - you can find something stupid and disagreeable that 100% of us have said or done. Don’t judge people by their worst bits. Judge them by the balance of their work.
If your 'worst bits' include calling for ethnic cleansing, as Shapiro has done, than you absolutely should be judged for it
Example - those who detest Bill Clinton judge him based on his failures - that could be the cheating on his wife, or his failure to act on African genocide.
On balance - @benshapiro is an intelligent human being who I find typically argues his points from a place of intellectual honesty.
I find @benshapiro extremely frustrating on the issue of climate change - rather than deeply digging into the issue - he claims he doesn’t know enough and punts.
But wtf good is it if I only follow Rachel Maddow? We need to have dialogue and understand each other and we find that we agree more than we disagree
