Trump was so fringe that Romney solicited his endorsement in 2012 and he consistently led polling in GOP from moment he announced. Very very fringe.

Yeah but the Birther conspiracy was created by the same tools used to create the Trump Russia conspiracy theory. Sidney Blumenthal inventing it. Using intelligence leaks & oppo research mercenaries to find a few credible 'dots'. Then having some PR firm like Fusion GPS push it.
