Pretty strong connection to catholics and reproductive rights though. When we're talking about the overturning of the roe v wade decision, I don't mind people's catholicism being called into view.

Many Catholics are pro-choice. There's a big difference between making a personal choice and deciding you get to force everyone else to make the same choice you would. See also: Ireland's recent abortion referendum.

I have witnessed this substratum first hand. Aside from the abortion (and contraception) debate, there is a belief that we are still fighting in the Crusades. Fundamentalism in any religion is dangerous. I would call this anti-Fundamentalist conspiracy identification.
