In fact it’s being used as a silencing and anti-resistance measure. I think it’s one end of a spectrum that ends in calling people who resist oppression extremists and terrorists.

Falsely calling people uncivil or using civility critiques as a distraction are absolutely tactics. They should be rebutted. But the fact that they are tactics is a hint here.

I'm not clear about your argument. Will the suburban voters who reluctantly chose to vote for a man who was heard on tape bragging about assaulting women refuse to vote for a Dem nominee because a restaurant refused to serve Sarah Huckabee Sanders?
