Republicans/conservatives love to pretend that they’re shocked at incivility when they’ve been feeding on hate, incivility, and destruction of trust for decades. Let them stew in their own juices. They’re reaping what they’ve sown.

Yes, but I do think the left-lib pattern of inaction, the neglect of the tools of civil disobedience over the last couple of decades is equally shocking. Why haven't churches preaching hatred and fanning anti-abortion politics been picketed?
