8. Why claim the Enlightenment when you are really in complex argument with it? Because you see the Enlightenment not as a complex historical phenomenon but rather as a brand. "We're Team Enlightenment," the argument goes. "You are Team Tribalist."

It wasn't Satan that encouraged Eve to eat, it was a serpent. And the serpent did not encourage both Adam and Eve, it only encouraged Eve to eat the apple. Eve then gave the apple to Adam. Where did Whittaker Chambers say this about Satan? Not in in his essay "The Devil."
