Possibly stupid question. OK, so in a space launch ejection, you can apparently hit 15g very briefly. For an average size man, that's like briefly weighing a ton. Now, presumably if I put a literal ton of iron on you, you die? Why you not die at 15g?

I recall reading at some point about trying to make a "fuel-less" launch system using something like a rail gun; put the payload in a magnetic container, send the container through hoops so that the hoops in front attract the container, the ones behind repel. (1/2)
