so apparently COPPA has begun and I need to choose whether or not the video I've uploaded to the coffee stain channel is for kids or not. so random and arbitrary. I guess kids might watch. but it doesn't target kids. but it is about a game. and games are For Kids™.
Sometimes they even enforce rules retroactively on videos that were fully compliant at the time, going as far as striking channels for doing absolutely nothing wrong. I think the best way to protect against this would be to add a (13+) disclaimer at the beginning of the videos

This isn't a case of "Youtube arbitrarily enforcing rules". Youtube got caught harvesting children's personal data. They broke COPPA (a US federal law), and the entity "arbitrarily enforcing the rules" is the Federal Trade Commission.

This is ~serious shit~ right here. Youtube's managed to get the FTC to blame content creators, and that's why everyone is panicking.
