Is this guy an idiot? Literally the only answer to the trolley problem is to minimize pain. Nobody wants to make that decision, but sacrifice the one to save the many.

The problem is that it's never just one person for everyone else, it always descends to being masses for masses. The wall could mean a death sentence for immigrants, are their lives meaningless? Is it fine to kill off tens of thousands for millions?

A) a “wall” would probably be as effective as current borders. B) as unsavoury as the imagery is (and I very much fall on the side of pro-migration), millions > tens-of-thousands. Of course those lives aren’t meaningless, but the raw calculus is pretty clear.
