The Soyuz on orbit is probably "safe" to return to Earth until December or January. Some questions: Maybe they could extend that? Could the Soyuz be certified for HSF in just three months? How long could NASA and Russia fly the station without crew?

That’s what I was wondering about. You’d need someone on the station to assist. Isn’t this kind of scenario like what like 5 different movies have covered?
Not sure about movies but it's definitely a common question. It's just technically impossible to unberth from inside cargo crafts.

We need some Apollo 13 level guys to start hacking up alternatives just in case. If we have no crewed space vehicles for the next 6 months to year, we’ve effectively returned to 1979 as far as manned space flight goes.

There’s a movie called Love where a solo astronaut gets trapped on the space station for an indetermined time and loses communication with the earth. It’s an artsy film but an interesting watch.
