I rescue beetles all the time, but never rare ones. Well done. I rescue other things too. Must ungrateful was a seagull wedged halfway through catflap. My fingers bore the brunt of its irritation. Wild things are rarely grateful. But you retell it hilariously! Thanks for sharing!

Incredible insects. If you wake up during the night feeling like water is running down your arm, which is out of the blankets, it's probably a weta crawling up your arm as I had a number of years ago.

They really aren’t, if you can get past the fact that they look like demonic crickets. They are very unalarming once you get familiar.
