My friend who is a musician spent months creating her EP. She wrote and produced it, made a video for one of the songs, Teathered Butterfly, and put it on her YouTube channel. Someone did a copyright claim and now her channel is blocked. Her own song got her a strike

Even when it’s obvious people are fraudulent, there is no real check to verify they actually have the copyright. All Youtube had to do about your friend was check the dates. Who posted first?

The other person didn't even post. They just went onto her channel and reported her, and boom! gone. And Youtube make it almost impossible to appeal the strike.
