  1. to take the position that any person or organization or administration is immune from criticism “because things are complicated” is to fundamentally misunderstand both complexity and accountability. constraints are real, and not acknowledging mistakes leads to worse mistakes.

I remember sitting in freshman psychology and having the professor say something like, "If the only things he broke were yours, he didn't black out and he meant it." And honestly, hearing that at 18 saved me from some bad shit later on.

Never delete what you write. I just pulled 5 pgs of writing I did in 2019 into this chapter that's now 70% done. The remaining 30% is about bringing all this raw material together in a more orchestrated way. I'm now more than half done writing this beast of a book manuscript.

Is your story about AAPIs as a whole or just Asian Americans? "AAPI" was coined as a coalitional term, but it's far removed from that today. "Intentional inclusion" of Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders matters, says. Don't erase their stories

No immigrant has taken your job. You were laid off by a capitalist who required cheap labor and took advantage of that immigrant to increase his profits, and nothing makes him happier than to hear you blame the immigrant and not him.

My kids had an active assailant drill today, jammed up against unmasked kids indoors while being put in a scary, unnecessary situation. It's great that my 5-year-olds have to face all the things that this society has decided not to protect them from, all at the same time.

. time! It's 2021 & newsrooms r still struggling to retain journos of color. 2018 Pew analysis found 77% of newsroom employees in U.S. are white. and looked into why JOC have contemplated/have left the industry.

Excellent journalism from Deadline. Thank you for 1) covering this 2) including that Ingo Rademacher is factually incorrect and made deliberately misleading statements about the CDC. The cast, crew & families have a right to have a safe working environment.
