      These kinds of taunts are not representative of the vast of majority of people who support progressive policies and equal rights. It is warping the discourse to portray them as indicative of the "left."

      I think you know that this is my point. They are the ones who are claiming to be on the left. I am now, have always been, on the left, and I see nothing honorable or representative over in authoritarian-left space. What I do see is their rhetoric and behavior gaining power.

          Yes, I do understand that. I think you are overstating the nature of the problem. Identity politics on the left and right are worth discussion but I simply don't see it having the same influence you do; which, I suppose, is understandable.
