I don't know how to say what I want to say. I'll try. Growing up as a white man, being influenced by white men and growing up in a center-right white community outside of Chicago, there's no chance that this ends well.

Yes, that's why we need both conservatives and progressives. Lefties and righties. Everything would not magically be better if we got rid of the "wrong" side (whichever that may be according to anyone).

I genuinely wonder whether it is productive to criticize a univariate argument for being one dimensional. Reading the comment thread on the page itself, it becomes clear that a lot of us are recognizing a common problem and then choosing to fight over the words to describe it.
