This is why I liked Falling Down. It starts off as a movie about a man driven to madness because The World Be Ugly And Fake, but becomes more about the man trying to stop him as the film goes on. The problem with the Joker movie seems to be that his trajectory goes unchallenged.

Also turning the Joker into this cliched character trope kind of misses the point of the Joker, which seems tangential but isn’t when we consider what it means in this cultural moment to rewrite this character as that when he wasn’t originally.

The Joker should never be portrayed as an Anti-Hero. It’s antithetical to his purpose as an agent of chaos and a sociopath.

All I hear is "I don't want" and "I want". Ok. You've been heard but the planet doesn't revolve around what you want or do not want. Should we burn our copies of Taxi Driver because it is relatable to so many?

That is so not the point of this. And Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver isn't supposed to be relatable, he's a condemning deconstruction of toxic masculinity, where as the Joker movie looks to be a celebration of it.

If “you” don’t like what you see then don’t go see it. Don’t go down the slope of there shouldn’t be movies made depicting this or that. Serbian film, human centipede: stuff I will not watch but has the right to exist and be made. Film is art and art is subjective.
