This decision sends a clear message: No one is above the law, and if police make bad stops, they can and will be held accountable.

    M. McConnell voted 6 times to raise his own pay and 15 times against raising the minimum wage. KY has voted for him for 34 years making him the 11th richest senator, while KY remains the 7th poorest state. PLEASE - repeal & replace McConnell in 2020...

What does our 1st major bill, do? 1. Ban voter roll purging, increase voting rights 2. Expand automatic & online voter reg. + early voting 3. Give public matching funds for small-donors, reducing big $ influence 4. Mandatory independent redistricting to limit gerrymandering

Democratic Party has always stood with the people. HR1 is a major step forward in having a government that works for all of us. By making it easier to vote/restoring voting rights, ending gerrymandering & removing the corrupting influence of money, we can have a better democracy.

Lip+hoops were inspired by Sonia Sotomayor, who was advised to wear neutral-colored nail polish to her confirmation hearings to avoid scrutiny. She kept her red. Next time someone tells Bronx girls to take off their hoops, they can just say they’re dressing like a Congresswoman.

Outrage solely at Trump’s tone & tweets is dangerously misplaced. Real threat is his tax bill that sold out workers’ futures for corporate gains, wall funding that will take dollars from schools & roads, his mockery of civil rights & his unrelenting effort to gut our health care.

NEW QUESTION! For my next post, I'm wondering what words or phrases you choose to use in your math classrooms that others might not? Why do you do this? (thank you for the amazing responses to my last question!)

Each of us has a part to play in the wellness of our World House. But our individual wellness matters, too. In 2019, please pursue being wholistically well. Be in well relationships, too. Love, peace and blessings to you.

Please RT. Teacher friends, I'm planning to give a talk to preservice teachers/education majors (K-12) in February. What's one lesson that you learned that you wish someone shared with you at the beginning of your teaching career?

Thankful to all those working tonight: the toll takers, the doctors, the nurses, the first responders, the military, the performers, the hotel staff, the waiters, bartenders and chefs, the homecare workers, the public transportation workers, flight attendants, TSA workers + more!

In our criminal justice system, a single mother can be held in jail awaiting trial for days, weeks, months, or even years  — not because she’s a threat to her community, but simply because she cannot afford to make bail. That’s wrong and why we must reform our bail system.

Remember the Friday when the Administration tried to sneak the climate report past people? Well yesterday they did it again (Friday, holidays) with an announcement to allow for more mercury. Prove them wrong &make sure everyone knows about this. It’s bad.

Our President is threatening to shut down the southern border over funding for his $5,000,000,000 wall. Experts say doing so would cost our economy hundreds of millions of dollars a day, maybe over a billion. This isn't leadership, it's the world's most expensive temper tantrum.

ICE paid private prisons $807 million this year. Those companies pay incarcerated workers from migrant communities as little as $1 a day. That’s exploitation and shows again why prisons should NEVER be for profit.

As states across the country are actively making it harder for Americans to vote, my Democratic colleagues are committed to strengthening access to the ballot box. Reinvigorating the Voting Rights Act, expanding early voting, and automatic registration are a place to start.

Hey guess what? If Trump REALLY cared about the border, he wouldn’t have: 1. SHUT DOWN INDEFINITELY the department that oversees the border. 2. Left unspent 94% of the border improvement funding Congress gave him over the last 2 years. Right?
