Privileged to have been involved with this ‘array of leaders’ since 2012. All heads back then...we’ve evolved into a group of serving and former heads excited about the potential to lead in the roaring 20s (this retweet posted on palindromic 02.02.2020😉)

New post from - Time to Stop Curriculum Shallowing? Broader and shallower or narrower and deeper; calling out some of the simplistic commentaries about curriculum currently doing the rounds

Less than two weeks to go to Summit. Time for school leaders to come together and provide an authentic voice rooted in our collective lived experience; too many people controlling the system from uninformed ivory towers Tickets available here

This could have been avoided if ⁦⁩ had shown even the smallest modicum of common sense at the QA stage. Not only has this discredited the framework in practice, but has highlighted their deeply inadequate appeal process.

Wrong, wrong, wrong... at times like this we need leaders such as Lynne to be staying in the role she clearly does so brilliantly.

Will be following summit via twitter on maternity leave this year. Always feel inspired & energised by the great company & exceptional programme of speakers and workshops. Definitely recommend school leaders/governors to attend on 7th Feb:

This is distressing and predictable in equal measure. It is important Heads have the courage to speak as they are denied an independent appeals process by

This exceptional leader won a Headteacher of the year award in 2019. Ofsted should hang their heads in shame. All because of a 3 year KS4. Ofsted’s response is to post a blog saying they don’t condemn schools for a 3 yr KS4 It’s about outcomes. This school has good outcomes?🤬😢

I am strongly of the view that although it has taken these guys too long to come to the table, now that they have we should be welcoming them.

I think it's sad that we raise the notion of curriculum time in relation to languages. Whilst there are clear pressures on schools and leaders based on current success measures, surely we want to create young people with an international mindset?

A few years ago, the school I was working in had compulsory MFL at KS4. The outcomes were not good. Encourage, promote and champion MFL, absolutely. But to make it compulsory would not be good, IMO. Not to mention the recruitment and curriculum issues it would throw up.

Agreed. What's also an issue is the perception of students who don't see value in mfl anyway; a real battle to get the culture right whilst trying to balance other priorities
