New today
A policy preventing Copyright owners from making $ on manual claims for:
Short song clips (ex: 5 sec of a song)
Unintentional audio (ex:
from passing cars)
Claimants can still block monetization or the video itself, but timestamps help you edit out the claim.

Oh look, a baby step in the right direction. This still doesn’t prevent anybody from abusing this system for their own personal benefit. People who don’t even own the song can copyright claim it with no downsides whatsoever. Try addressing that!

It's true that this update addresses the uptick in manual claims rather than Content ID abuse. It's worth noting that actual abuse is very rare in millions of weekly claims. When we find abuse we take strong action incl. removing companies from Content ID. https://yt.be/help/claims-FAQ

Keep repeating that lie, and maybe people will believe it. Problem networks like YAM112003 Endemol have been blatantly abusing your system for YEARS, filing claims hand over fist, and you've done nothing to address that.
