there can’t be a genetic disposition to abortion - there can be a genetic disposition to anxiety or depression but they’d have to identify the mechanism for that

All human behavioral traits are heritable, including seeking abortions.

the assumptions of the twin method would have to hold for that claim to be justified, but, in any case, seeking an abortion is an action, not a behavior, so it's not a “heritable” trait i.e. there can’t be a genetic disposition to abortion

Abortion itself is obviously selected against in a vacuum, but correlated traits that generally lead to having more abortions may actually be selected for on net.

Heritable Heritable ≠ selected for. There is no need to invoke evolution when talking about heritable traits

I was thinking that they were thinking, "a propensity for abortion can't possibly be heritable because it's constantly selected against"

Well you can say that something doesn't have to be selected for in order to be heritable, but it does bring up the question of why that heritable trait would exist

Chess skill, basketball ability, hours watching TV, video game playing are all heritable and clearly weren't selected for in the ancestral environment.

Sure. But someone might think that any propensity for abortion shouldn't exist at all because it would simply be eliminated. Maybe I was just overinterpreting what they were thinking though
