The pro-pitbull side is literally trying to stamp out breedism. They don't believe breed is real. They argue there's more variation within breeds than between them (a meaningless statement). They don't believe the bite statistics. They want antidiscrimination legislation.

One more thing: they promote pitbull adoption into unsuspecting homes just like African adoption.

Genes don't cause behavior.
-
How can gene G cause behavior B?
-
Well let's say gene G causes increased production of neurotransmitter X, and having more neurotransmitter X makes behavior B more likely
-
Actions don't happen in vacuums. If I don't have gene G I can still do behavior B. Either way it's rarely as simple for one gene to cause a trait. And genes don't cause traits on their own. That's what I mean when I say "Genes don't cause behavior", it's not possible.
-
I'm not saying it's simple, but I think interpretation of causation above is fine.

"Pit Bulls and Old English Sheep-Dogs are 99.8% genetically identical, breedist!"

As genomic data grows, the blank slate buckos will soon have nowhere to go.
