Incels are not only selected against on the dating market, but their traits are also discriminated against on the employment market. They are often the victims of Affirmative Action, and they suffer from height discrimination and personality (eg shyness) discrimination.

Not only are all of the Ellen Paos out there trying to root them out of their companies (see James Damore, who is likely incel), but also HR women can smell the incel on interviewees, and they are rarely hired.

Didn't Damore have a girlfriend? I'll get he didn't until after he started working at Google, though.

Some guys are completely hopeless, but some guys will get a girl if the have a good job, bathe regularly, and pay a little attention to their grooming. I was incel for a lot of college. Once I started paying a little more attention, a female friend fixed me up with a friend.

The girl wasn't very good looking, but she wasn't deformed, and she's very smart and wanted to fuck. It ended badly, but another girl in our social circle saw her opportunity, and grabbed me. Since then, I've always had at least one girlfriend.

I started reading http://alt.seduction.fast and learned a little game. I'm too lazy to implement all that I know, but I have enough skill that I know I'll always be able to get laid, just not always completely on my terms.

Ah I remember http://alt.seduction.fast and that early PUA stuff. I get the impression it doesn't work quite as well these days. Anyway, yes, for many incels all it takes is more of the right effort, but note that to some extent that displaces others to incel status
