If we're talking about, say, 9 year olds, adding a few girls to the mix wouldn't change much, imo. Maybe for older kids it would be more of a problem, I don't know
Male, and I've been around 9 year old boys. Yes, it's true that at school the boys play with boys and the girls with girls. However, I've been to Scout events where just boys are there and to events where parents bring siblings, and the girls who are around don't matter

I would view Boy Scouts like a sports team, having even a single girl on sports team when I was 9 would have fundamentally changed the entire team dynamic
