A thread: I see many folks reacting to this piece since @jack RT'd it. I've commented before (came out in Jan), but let me reiterate: if you are moderate/conservative/libertarian YOU NEED TO READ IT, don't just go "silly libs" and complain on Twitter. 1/https://medium.com/s/state-of-the-future …

Do expand on who and what you mean by "us".
-
People who would be considered alt-right (although the term is currently being used less) or dissident right or generally "redpilled" come about half from the left and half from mainstream conservatism. Many of us grew up in liberal/Puritan households and studied in the Cathedral
-
Moldbug, for example, comes from a leftist/communist family. The alt-right is fundamentally a response to liberal/progressive ideas, not a simple evolution of mainstream 90s conservatism
-
oh you're right, the "alt-right" has nothing to do w/conservatism. But it isnt really a response to liberalism either, though its pitched that way. Its just the re-mix/rebranding of very old and very wrong ideas using modern issues as an excuse. There is no justification for it.

You haven't studied and listened enough, then. Progressives: Let's all cooperate. Due to the blank slate, disparate outcomes are evidence of defection. Alt-right: We need a meta-rule to defect against defectors who prey on cooperators, and disparate outcomes are bio in nature
-
Actually I read, listen and study relentlessly, so when you spout of psuedo-Darwinian "We need a meta-rule to defect against defectors who prey on cooperators, and disparate outcomes are bio in nature" I can identify it and judge you intentions accordingly.
-
You don't even have to agree to see that this broad application of evolutionary theory is a direct response to SJW ideology
-
It is foolish to broadly apply any theory to any group of people. Be as reactionary as you like, just admit it is because you want to believe that way, not because of anothers ideology. Pursue this elsewhere, this rabbit hole does not interest me.
