Kaplan's 1994 forecast that West Africa's population growth will be a serious issue for the entire world in 21st Century was prescient. UN discovered in 2012 that it had been badly underestimating African population growth. Organizations like Zero Population Growth and Negative Population Growth were very concerned about the African growth rates back then. I wonder if they've gone full prog and dropped the issue now, though.
