The media spent a long time in the 90s talking about the situation in the former Yugoslavia. We heard a lot about "ethnic cleansing" and how the evil Serbs were genociding the Bosnians. The general sentiment was: these people need to get along, and if they don't we'll make them.

At the time I figured, "ok, the Serbs seem kind of mean, they shouldn't be killing people,so US action to make them stop seems reasonable." Today I think, "yeah,I wouldn't want Bosnians in my country either" Could some kind of separation have been worked out rather than bombing?

Another position I'm more inclined to today is, of course, "This is none of our business, not in our interests, and we should stay out". But let's assume there's too much demand to "do something" to ignore it.

Chronicles magazine showed the extent of propaganda. It was mutual violence and lots of bad things done to Serbs. Not a story of genocide. Look at Croatia’s operation storm
