Can you explain what it is then? I'm pretty woke to the hbd question but that is not explaining this phenomenon...

Sure. To the extent this is a surprise, it's based on the idea that everyone at the same income level are matched on other traits. They're not. 1. Black people in the top 1% of incomes are still biologically more aggressive. (continued)

2. Many black people in the top 1% by income have received large AA boosts, so they aren't IQ-matched to whites in the top 1%. 3. Blacks in the top 1% are disproportionately entertainers and sports stars--this is a less intelligent and more aggressive group than the whites (cont)

4. People usually have kids with people of the same race, and black people who marry other blacks would be expected to have lower IQ and more aggressive spouses than whites. 5. To the extent regression to the mean is an issue, black kids will regress toward the black mean

The disparity here is basically all due to biological factors and is a natural consequence of affirmative action.

Actually wait, why doesn't this same set of dynamics you outlined affect black women? Ie. Why are black women more likely to stay on parents income trajectory than black men are?

Black women stay higher income because it's easier to give them more AA. Black men are less docile, and if you need to bump up your black numbers, who are you going to hire--the black guy with an arrest record, or the black woman (for your HR department)?
