Different regions are at different places on the demographic transition. IQ rises with educational access whichever part of the world you happen to be from.

-
How would that affect IQ?
-
i think he is pointing out parasites that won't affect IQ.
-
Head lice don't transmit infectious agents. Athletes foot is completely different compared to other infectious agents that affect brain functioning and structure.
-
Correct, and are aforementioned parasites being measured, along with agents that can affect brain function, when it comes to the parasitic load data you've mentioned?
-
It's been a while since I read the paper. Here's Eppig's SciAm article. More data for the claim there.https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-is-average-iq-higher-in-some-places/ …
-
Right, this is what you said earlier. The next step is to parse via ethnicities. This is the control of course, although twin studies and parasitic load would be idea. Very hard to make though.
-
Twin studies are garbage but here they'd be good.
-
Yes, they're good when the control is actually important. Right now I think the claim is spurious until controls for ethnicity are done. Ethnicities more competent at avoiding IQ harming parasites may always do so, and not even for IQ reasons.

You know how it is, dude. He's gotta stretch out every conceivable feel-good explanation to the point of absurdity before caving in and just admitting they're apes. Quite a PC race-realist, isn't he?
-
Do you have any data at all for your parasitic IQ difference claim? It would be helpful in this discussion
-
I don't know what diseases they're testing or whether they're controlling for race. The south has more parasites due to climate, and it has more blacks. Serious parasite infections are rare in the US, though.
-
I'll get back to you on that tonight.
