Oh sure if you're a boomer you're pretty immune to this, but younger whites have been severely fucked over by this stuff for quite a while.

This article has nothing to do with the ethics of corporate diversity initiatives though. Why frame it like some big scandal? It's just one company haggling over a non-compete because they don't want to lose an edge in the hiring market.

The sole purpose of a Chief Diversity Officer is to avoid hiring and/or the appearance of hiring white men.

You can make that claim if you want to, but it is not supported by the article you posted.

So I took a look at how these terms are defined and in doing so I read this article addressing your exact point about reverse-racism in diversity hiring. Yes, there are a few elite jobs for white men who make sure that other white men aren't hired. It's a great racket.

Do you have any evidence for that? I can't really refute such a broad/vague claim.

Accidentally overheard a white boomer dude chatting a bunch of young mentoring group for young women. He explained that in order to make up for generations males dominating staff, they need to favor women for a long time until until they could again consider men equally.

It’s a slight comfort to know that the emotionally distant children of those boomers will put them in the cheapest nursing homes possible, where they’ll be alternately smacked around, tormented, and neglected by surly Squatemalan and Somali attendants.

My grandmother was given incompetent wound care in hospital by a foreign nurse years ago. Now anytime an older relative is hospitalized, I watch the staff like a hawk and engage them frequently with questions and requests so they know someone is alert for any bullshit.

It's as foolish to disqualify foreign talent as it is to automatically consider their qualifications equivalent. My mother's Dr. almost let her die when he kept sending her home to be patient to get better. An Israeli internist with a funny accent finally diagnosed & cured her.

From what I understand foreigners have fewer choices... If I were a Doctor, I'd rather be on a lake someplace deep in the woods of Minnesota or Tennessee rather than in NYC or SF. You don't have to go overseas to find shitholes.

For sure. The “secret diversity techniques” I know about at Microsoft are: 1. HR recommendations are dangerous to oppose on role assignments and promos - you are reported if go against a “diversity” recommendation 2. Race, gender, tenure, and merit are considered in that order

Boomer white guys were run over by this crap starting ~1980 and continuing throughout their careers. @ScottAdamsSays wrote about being told no more promotions – fini. Hence Dilbert. I never got even that courtesy. What was easy for a talented guy just suddenly wasn't any more.
